How to Mount a Samsung Frame tv....tips & tricks

Updated: Aug 12

A Samsung Frame TV is a unique television designed to blend seamlessly with home decor by functioning as both a TV and a piece of art. Here are some key features and aspects of the Samsung Frame TV.

When the TV is not in use, it can display high-quality artworks or photographs, transforming into a digital picture frame. Users can choose from a wide range of art pieces available through the Samsung Art Store or upload their own photos. The Frame TV comes with interchangeable bezels in various colors and styles, allowing it to match different interior designs. These bezels attach magnetically, making it easy to change them. The TV is designed to sit flush against the wall, resembling a framed piece of art. The No Gap Wall Mount helps achieve this look.

The Frame TV uses QLED (Quantum Dot LED) technology, providing vibrant colors, deep blacks, and high brightness levels. This ensures excellent picture quality for both TV viewing and art display.

Most Frame TV models offer 4K Ultra HD resolution, delivering sharp and detailed images. The TV can automatically adjust its brightness and color temperature based on the ambient lighting in the room, ensuring optimal viewing conditions. The Frame TV includes Samsung's Smart TV platform, providing access to streaming services, apps, and internet browsing. Users can stream content from platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and more. The TV supports voice assistants like Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, allowing users to control the TV and other connected devices using voice commands.

The Frame TV comes with a One Connect Box, which houses all the TV’s inputs and outputs. This reduces cable clutter by connecting to the TV with a single, almost invisible cable. The One Connect Box includes multiple HDMI ports, USB ports, and other necessary connections for devices like gaming consoles, soundbars, and Blu-ray players. The TV can integrate with Samsung's SmartThings ecosystem, allowing it to be part of a connected smart home setup. Beyond Art Mode, Ambient Mode allows the TV to display useful information such as weather updates, news headlines, or personal photos. The TV has built-in sensors to detect when someone enters the room, automatically turning on Art Mode, and adjusting brightness levels based on the ambient light.

The Samsung Frame TV is ideal for those who want a TV that can double as a stylish and functional piece of home decor, offering high-quality viewing experiences and advanced smart features.

Installing the Frame TV

For starters when mounting a Frame TV make sure you get familiar with its functions and components as best you can. Get familiar with the U-verse box, Get an understanding of the remote and the Samsung home dashboard. Getting familiar with these items will ensure

stress free entertainment post installation.

Mounting Location - Indoors, Outdoors, High Level, Eye Level

Choosing the right installation location is top priority for many Frame TV owners. Choosing a location that will compliment the room and satisfy your vision. Samsung has industry mounting height recommendations but in reality every ones situation will be different. Think of location that will look good both for tv view and Art Mode. KWHS does not recommend installing the tv too high if you intend to use it for recreational watching. Choose a location near an outlet and/or with good storage for the One-Connect box.

Wall Type - Drywall, Plaster, Stone or Brick

Mounting Frame TVs on drywall is relatively simple. This project can be completed whether there are studs or not using high strength toggle bolts which can support up to 135lb in drywall. The Frame TV can definitely be installed on unique surfaces like paneling, brick, stone, and concrete. It's very important to install the tv on flat or leveled surface. If surfaces aren't entirely flat then spacers can be used to make up for difference of depth.

Wire Hiding

When hiding the wires of the Fame TV there is one main that will be concealed. The One Connect wire is translucent and approximately 20ft long allowing for a variety of concealment options. Hiding the One Connect Box for the Samsung Frame TV enhances the clean, minimalist aesthetic it offers. To conceal the box, consider placing it in a nearby cabinet, media console, or behind the wall. Use the provided long, nearly invisible cable to connect the box to the TV without visible clutter. Alternatively, route the cable through the wall using an in-wall cable management kit. For seamless integration, you can also place the box inside a decorative storage unit or behind furniture. This setup ensures that all connections are hidden, maintaining the elegant, art-like appearance of the Frame TV. Installations going over fireplaces will require more work and attention to details. Generally the One Connect cable will be ran to in open space to the side of the fireplace depending on what is available and required.

When going completely wireless when installing the Frame TV you'll want to have the proper material to fulfil this project. You should consider the wall you're installing on. For example installing the tv onto an interior brick wall on the outside walls of a house, concealing the wires will be extremely difficult. Versus installing the tv onto an interior standard home wall. In the case you want to go wireless you'll need a recessed media box to go behind the tv. Like in the picture shown above. The recessed media box will allow you to store the One Connect box in the wall with a reliable electrical source, network connections, and ventilation.

Finishing Touches

Finally when you get to the final stage of beautifully installed Frame TV you'll want to add the finishing touches to bring it all together. Subtle accents like setting up Art mode to add ambiance or attaching a Samsung Frame TV bezel to highlight its sleek design. Samsung offers an Art mode subscription for regularly updated selections. Including a decorative bezel will make the Frame TV pop and appear like a piece of actual art on the wall.
